I’ve just found a couple of photos on my phone that made me laugh. I took them in Cardiff when Will and I were there last weekend for the Unity Festival, just before we headed home. It was raining heavily so we ducked into a shopping arcade for shelter and a cup of tea.
As we were looking for a suitable place to stop Will noticed that some of the shops looked as though they’d been named by my tics.
First there was ‘Hair by Cats’
And next door was ‘The Bear Shop’
People often say my tics would be a good source of band names or song titles, but I hadn’t thought about their use for the small retailer market.
Who wouldn’t want to visit a millinery shop called “The Great Hatsby”?
Or get new acrylics at the “Dolphin Nail Bar”?
And surely nothing says ‘convenience store’ more clearly than “Spur of the moment horseradish”?
